Scope of Work

  • Dusting of all horizontal surfaces including ledges, sills, and equipment surfaces.
  • Sanitising of all high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and taps.
  • Mopping of floors with a disinfectant solution.
  • Cleaning and sanitising of surgical tables and equipment.
  • Emptying and sanitising of rubbish bins.
  • Spot cleaning of walls and doors to remove any marks or stains.
  • Ensuring all cleaning is performed using a colour-coded cleaning system to prevent cross-contamination.

Method

  1. Prepare the cleaning trolley with all necessary equipment and cleaning agents, ensuring colour-coded cloths and mops are used.
  2. Dust all horizontal surfaces using a damp microfibre cloth to capture dust and prevent dispersal.
  3. Sanitise high-touch surfaces with an approved hospital-grade disinfectant, allowing appropriate contact time.
  4. Mop floors using a two-bucket system to ensure clean and dirty water are kept separate, using a disinfectant solution.
  5. Clean and sanitise surgical tables and equipment with a disinfectant wipe, ensuring no residue is left.
  6. Empty rubbish bins, replace liners, and sanitise the bin interior and exterior.
  7. Spot clean walls and doors with a suitable cleaning agent to remove any visible marks.
  8. Conduct a final inspection to ensure all areas meet the required cleanliness standards.

Good Minor dust on non-critical surfaces; high-touch surfaces sanitised with minimal residue; floors are clean with slight dampness; no strong odours; rubbish bins are empty but not fully sanitised; equipment is mostly clean.
Pass Visible dust on some surfaces; high-touch surfaces sanitised but with visible residue; floors are clean but damp; mild odours present; rubbish bins are emptied but not sanitised; equipment has minor visible dirt.
Fail Visible dust and dirt on multiple surfaces; high-touch surfaces not sanitised; floors are dirty or wet; strong odours present; rubbish bins are full or not sanitised; equipment is visibly dirty.
